Every day the world consumes more and more materials and needs more and more energy. Fossil fuels are the easiest and cheapest way to access energy. This is only the climate part. In addition, science and technology, based on an anthropocentric philosophy, has established a dualism in the relationship human-nature. This dualist structure, which has resulted in the ecological crisis, has also led to the alienation of the human from the tools of production, from nature and from oneself.
Can renewable energies be a solution for a planet that aims for more and more economic growth and needs more and more resources and energy? Research shows that this is not possible. It is essential to identify the problem correctly. Is the ecological crisis a problem or a consequence of the imbalance between human and nature? We need to go back to philosophy and update our concept of nature. Because we now know that human is a part of nature, not a subject in opposition to it.
